About the Author

Kayla E. Green is an award-winning author and poet who writes to remind others—and herself—that light always prevails over darkness. When she isn’t writing, reading, or spending time with her family, she loves singing loudly and off-key to KLove Radio and pretending she’s a unicorn. Fittingly, her YA debut fantasy novel is titled The Goodness of Unicorns.

Interview with the Author

What does success as an author look like to you?

It’s always so rewarding when a reader tells me they enjoyed what I’ve written. And when I hear my book is a new favorite? It fills my heart!

What is your favorite Bible verse or life verse?

Romans 12:2 is a verse I keep close to my heart. “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will” (NIV).

What would you like your readers to get out of this book?

I hope this collection of poetry helps readers grow closer to Jesus. My prayer is that readers are pointed back to the truth of God’s words with the Bible verse pairings with each poem and walk away with a sense of comfort that God’s love is transformative.

What are you reading right now?

I am reading a mix of audiobooks, ebooks, and paperbacks. Mere Christianity and The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis are two I’m thoroughly enjoying and highly recommend to all adult readers!

What is your most well-loved and well-used house appliance?

I love this question so much! 😆I have a lightweight rechargeable vacuum that is used almost daily. But I am also partial to my toaster because…waffles!
