Tyler D. Smith is a pastor, NBA sportswriter, and basketball coach. He has also worked in the Christian music industry.  He resides in Indiana with his wife Katelyn, and their two daughters Addi and Ellie.

What inspired this book? 

I have experienced a lot in my life, and have spent many years telling stories and teaching.  This book is the culmination of my life in ministry, coaching, sportswriting, fatherhood, and everything in between.  My inspiration came from God Himself, my family, my students and players, and the idea of encouraging and inspiring others through  my story.

Which author influenced the you most? 

Bob Goff.  His style of writing is what I was going for in my book:  Short chapters with lots of stories and Scripture, and how to apply it to your life.

What is your favorite Bible verse or life verse? 

Colossians 3:23 is my all-time favorite:  “Whatever you do, do it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.”

What would you like your readers to get out of this book? 

I want readers to be encouraged and inspired.  It is a quick read with lots of stories and Scripture, and my hope is that you would learn more about what it means to search for Jesus all seven days a week.

What is your vacation spot? 

We try to go on two vacations every year. One vacation is to be lazy on a beach, and one vacation is to visit a new city.  In the last several years, we’ve spent time in Philadelphia, Boston, Toronto, Nashville, D.C. and New York.  I highly recommend traveling like this if you are able.
